A Little Bit About Us

We are located in Honokaʻa on the Big Island with everything formulated and handmade by me, Komela. I began Alohiʻena after years of struggling to find skincare that actually helped my very sensitive skin. After briefly living on the mainland and dealing with all new skin issues, I decided it was time to really find something that helped my skin. I started researching how to make my own body scrubs and, after a few trial and errors, found a formula that worked perfectly for my skin. After listening to me constantly talk about making my won body scrubs, my family had to try them and the rest is truly history. We have been making body scrubs ever since and have since expanded to making over 14 different products!

From the beginning we have been committed to being environmentally friendly and safe. All of our products are made with organic and natural ingredients, many of them locally sourced on the Big Island. Most of our products are also packed in reusable glass containers, doing our small part in combating the use of single-use plastics.
